How to Publish Your App on Google Play Store?

After you developed your mobile application with Mobiroller you have to sign up for a Google Play Developer Account in order to publish your app on Google Play Store. If you do not have a developer account on Google Play, you can create one right away by checking out our article How to Sign Up for a Google Developer Account.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not submit your application to Internal, Open or Closed Testing. If you have submitted your application for testing, when there is an error in any version of your application, you will not be able to update your application and receive an error because you can not delete the versions you submitted for testing. There is nothing we can do for the applications you have sent for testing. For this, you need to contact the Google Play Console Support Team.

After opening your Developer Account, here is what you need to do to upload your app to the market:

First, download the AAB file of your application to your computer. You can reach the download link of your ABB file from the e-mail sent to you when you had your AAB produced, or from the MobiRoller Control Panel.

If you have not generated your AAB file yet, you can read our article Generate Your Android File.

After you download your AAB file to your computer, sign in to Google Play Console.

You can reach the new application creation screen by clicking the Create App button.

In the new window that opens, you need to specify the application name, a default language, application type, and price, and enter a title for the new application you will create. You can change the price until you publish your app. You cannot replace a free app with a paid one after publishing.

After accepting the policies in the Declarations section, continue by pressing the Create Application button.

After the application is created, you will be redirected to the Control Panel. This place may seem complicated, but you’ll figure it out right away as you progress in order. You must follow the steps in order by clicking the View tasks button under the title “set up your app”.

Click the App access tab in the first row.

If access to parts of your app is restricted, provide instructions on how to access those parts. Select the All functions are available without a special access button if you have not restricted them, or the All or some of the functions are restricted if you have restricted them.

If there are restrictions in your application, you should add a maximum of 5 instructions. For example, if your application is closed to users in a certain country, you must specify this in the Name section when adding instructions. Google may want to review the areas you restrict, so the information you enter in this section is important.

After adding the instructions, save and return to the Control panel. Click on the second option, Ads.

Click Yes if your app contains ads or No if it doesn’t and save and return to the Control Panel.

After returning to the Control Panel, click on the Content rating option.

You will be asked to fill out a survey on the content rating screen. As a result of this survey, it will be determined which age group the content of your application is suitable for. Proceed by saying start the survey.

At this stage, you must enter an Email address where Google can contact you. Then you should find and mark the most suitable category for your application by reading the examples under the categories. After selecting, go to the next step by saying forward from the bottom right.

At this stage, you must answer yes or no to the questions that appear, and be sure to choose the most appropriate option for your application. These questions are about the content you add to your app, not any content your users add.

Continue by filling out the form.

After making all the markings, click the Save button and then the Next button.

You will be greeted with a summary page as a result of the survey you have completed. After making your reviews, click the Submit button.

If you have made changes in your questionnaire that will affect your answers, you can fill out a new questionnaire by saying Start new questionnaire from this screen.

If you are not going to fill out the questionnaire again, you can return to the control panel. Continue by selecting the Target audience option.

From this section, you should choose the target audience of your application. If your application is for under 13 years old, you must add a confidentiality agreement to your application. If you have a privacy policy page that you have created for the application, you can give the link to the relevant page here. If you do not have such a page, you can access the MobiRoller Privacy Policy, which you can use on Google Play. After choosing your target audience, click the Next button.

Next, does your app unintentionally appeal to children? You must specify this condition. For example, does your app have animations, characters? Even if your goal is not to make an app for children, these features may appeal to children. You should click Yes if this is the case, or No if this is not the case at all. If you say no and Google detects a child-directed condition in your app, you won’t be able to update your app. After making your selection, click the Next button.

When you complete all the steps, this screen will appear. If you think that there is no mistake in the explanations you made about your application, click the Save button. If you think there is a mistake, you can edit it with the Back button.

Then go back to the Control panel and click on the News Apps button.

If your app is a News App, tick Yes and describe your news sources and information that will confirm you are a news publisher. If not, select No and click Save.

After going back to your dashboard, click on COVID-19 contact tracing and status apps.

After choosing the correct option for your application, click on the Save button.

Then go back to the Control panel and click on Select an app category and click provide contact details.

You will see another screen where you have to enter your app’s information. You have to fill in the information and click the Save button. Fields with an asterisk next to them are mandatory fields.

After saving, go back to the Control panel and click the Set up your store listing button.

Try to fill in all the images in these parts. The more screenshots you upload, the clearer your app will be for users. So you choose the various screens that reflect the application; but while doing this, it will be useful to avoid repeating the same images. By the way, the images you upload don’t have to be just screenshots you take with your phone. Therefore, you can use specially prepared advertisement images as screenshots. It is written under the loading windows in which sizes you need to install.

App icon: It is your logo that will appear on the Google Play Store. It will not replace the launcher icon that occurs after landing on the phone.

Video: If you have prepared a video about your application and published it on YouTube, you can enter the link in this field. Thus, users can also see this video on the app page in the market. This field is not required to be filled.

It is mandatory to add phone screenshots, 7-inch tablet screenshots, 10-inch tablet screenshots. You need to add at least 2 graphics to all of them.

After uploading your graphics, click the Save button.

After completing the steps on your control panel, click the Setup button on the left menu. In the submenu that opens, click the App integrity button. Click on Create release on the page that appears.

Click on the Countries/Regions section on the page that opens and click on the Add countries/regions text below.

You can choose which countries your application can be used in from the Country and Region list that appears on the screen. After completing the selection process, click the Add countries/regions button on the lower right.

If you are sure of the countries you have selected, confirm your selection by clicking Add.

Then click on the Releases button on the screen that appears and click on the Create new release button.

You need to cancel Play Application Signing option, which should be considered on the production version creation screen. To do this, click the Change app signing key button on the screen.

Click the Use a different key button from the window that opens.

The page that opens is the Play Application Signing page. On this page, select Export and upload a key from the Java keystore.

In the window that opens, click the Upload generated ZIP button. You should download and install your key file from here. After downloading, click the save button.

After saving, you can see that the signature has been uploaded successfully.

Then, click the Upload button on the screen that comes up and upload the AAB file that you downloaded to your computer before.

In this step, there will be a loading screen for a certain period of time.

After the installation process is completed, the version information will be automatically displayed on the screen. After adding the notes you want to add about the version, first, click on Save and then on the Review release buttons.

Click on the Production button in the left-hand menu and click on Start rollout to production on the page that opens.

NOTE: The warnings given at this stage do not pose any problem regarding the publication of your application. If you receive a red error notification instead of a yellow warning on this screen, send it to support@mobiroller.com with the screenshot.

A screen will appear for you to approve this version, and you can send your application to Google for review by saying Rollout.

You can now follow the status of your application’s release from the Production section or create a new release.
